The battery is lithium. The wire can be reused as long as it's in good shape. Phone and email support are found on the SmartMow.com contact us page.

More details will be published upon product release...

Best Regards,

No activity on this blog since January 2011?

Is there a new Q&A/blog site that is not redirected from the older one?

I have questions about the battery type [lead acid? lithium?], details of warranty term? Where to get service in N. Central Texas and N. Central IL, among other places in the U.S.?

If there has already been a perimeter wire run, and used in years past -- for a model of Friendly Robotics [b t w, they're no longer so friendly since abandoning their R&D site in Dallas area years ago], can that existing wire serve your model of robotic mower?

I have many other questions but typing is very difficult due to mult. disab.; phone contact is much better.

Do you have a phone support of any kind?

Thank you in advance for your prompt reply.

You have a good list of the factors that make up the real value of a robotic lawn mower. I would however add a couple more.

In terms of real costs, many people with large lawns will hire a lawn service to come in and cut their lawn. In that case, they find that in a year they have spent more than they would if they had bought a robotic lawn mower. And their lawns wont look as good, as the mower can cut more frequently than the lawn service will come.

More intangible perhaps is what value do you place on your time and convenience? One less job is more time to do the things that you really would rather be doing. And lastly, the feel-good aspect knowing you are choosing a green alternative to gas mowers.

Your post is extremely useful but I find myself wanting to hire professionals to take care of my yard's upkeep because it is more convenient. I wouldn't need to buy fancy equipment or clean them afterward. Here's a resource I found useful for yard services and landscape maintenance -- http://www.sergioslandscaping.net.
